Alpine magic on Postplatz
Where Santa wears sunglasses
Curling, after-work parties, après-ski, disco, food, drink and partying: the Christmas market on Postplatz is also something of an event – great fun for groups as well. Spread out over more than 2,000 square metres, with two restaurants, a cafe and a children’s playground, the alpine-themed market has the space and generates the perfect atmosphere for the large Christmas parties that spontaneously take place here every day. Sporty types can compete to their heart’s content on the curling sheet.

“Hänsel & Gretel” – fairy tale opera
“Hansel and Gretel” is one of the most popular fairy tales. So it is not surprising that Engelbert Humperdinck’s fairy tale opera of the same name is one of the most played works in the repertoire. Humperdinck’s music is completely rooted in the folk song, although only three folk songs are directly quoted. With this work he creates an opera for the whole family that has inspired young and old for many generations.

My Favourite Things – A Musical Journey
All good things come in threes (at least): After the two successful concerts of the Disney series at the HfM Dresden we are now going into the third round. The Hochschule für Musik invites everyone to a revue of our favourite songs from various musicals. You will hear titles from “Les Miserables”, “Die Drei Musketiere”, “Barlesque” & “Rent”. Welcome to Dresden Broadway!

The Christmas Goose Auguste
A family comedy by Friedrich Wolf. The story takes place many years ago, at Christmas time. The Löwenhaupt family – father Luitpold Löwenhaupt, an opera singer, mother Gerlinde, her son Peterle and grandma Hedwig – lived in a little house on the outskirts of the town. One day father Luitpold brought home a goose. She was to become the Christmas roast on Christmas Eve. Only one thing is certain: in the end everything will end well. At least that’s how Auguste told us yesterday. And she must know…
Location: Boulevardtheater Dresden
